Introducing the 1 page website top tips check-list
Our 1 page check-list of simple must-do’s is quick to work through and will help you get the most out of your website. We strongly recommend you download it, print it out and physically tick-off what you are doing – and then start working on what you are not.
While many of the items presented in the check-list might seem obvious and trivial, there are a surprising number of agencies who do not implement them.
This article will concentrate on two of the sections of the check-list – being the importance of good presentation of your properties and listing them on the free portals. Be sure to read our next newsletter where we’ll focus on the rest.

Apart from wanting to present the properties in the best light to make the sale, buyers (and as importantly sellers) will judge you on your website, with one of the main criteria being the presentation of your properties. If this is professional then they will assume the same of the agency and vice versa.
A good exercise is to put yourself in the shoes of a buyer (or a seller) and try to imagine what property information they would want in terms of text, pictures and possibly other documents.

The big free property portals, presented above, spend millions on advertising and developing their websites and they let you list on them for free. Stats from www.alexa.com present that together they get more page visits than both pamgolding.co.za and seeff.co.za. This gives smaller agencies the chance to have a web presence that is on par to that of the biggest agencies in South Africa. We cannot recommend strongly enough that you take advantage of this. There is, quite simply, no better way of getting exposure for your properties… and it’s free!
And that wraps up our first article around our 1 page website top tips check-list. Remember to print it out and work through it if you have not already done so. In future articles we will continue substantiating on the check-list – giving you advice on: simple yet effective ways to advertise your website, getting the most out of your property alerts emails, how to take better pictures and much more.
